Our Story

Four Ewes Design is a small web design company that helps demystify the web for small businesses and non-profits. Based in the beautiful Niagara Region, we are built on the philosophy that even small companies deserve great design, and great design leads to better companies.

Our wee company was founded by Sara Law, after she noticed the needs of small business owners were being overlooked by larger design firms. She wanted startup companies, even those with small budgets, to benefit from the remarkable Internet Age we are currently experiencing. Why should big corporations have all the fun?

A "Jill of All Trades" of sorts, Sara is a web designer and classically-trained artist. She has worked in a huge variety of fields, including straw bale construction, carpentry, landscaping, retail, art auctions, tourism, and software. She's passionate about sustainability and environmental responsibility, and ensures that her company reflects these core values. She started designing for the web back in 2010, and hasn't looked back since. She is currently the lead designer here at Four Ewes Design.

Our team is small, but mighty. We have a growing team and offer custom web design, social media management and branding services. We take care of all the complicated web stuff, freeing you to do the things you love while growing your business.

Triple Bottom Line

Doing "business as usual" is not our thing. We believe that business should and needs to coincide with sustainable practices, ensuring a healthy planet, happy people, and a prosperous economy. That's why Four Ewes Design focuses on our triple bottom line.

Sustainable energy - Our main office is powered by Bullfrog Power, Canada's 100% green energy provider. We aim to have our main office solar powered in the near future.

Green business - We support our fellow green businesses. Our web and email host uses green energy to power its servers, and we use environmentally-friendly vendors as much as possible.

Paperless office - We do not print out anything unless absolutely necessary.

Recycled paper - When we do print marketing materials, we do so on recycled paper with biodegradable ink.

Remote Team - Our remote team works wherever they feel comfortable. No need for a gas guzzling commute or expensive corporate office.

Honest approach - You won't find nonsense here. We believe in honesty and transparency, and truly want to help you reach your goals.

Our Process

Our projects are as diverse as our clients, and we like the creative process to flow organically. Here's the general pattern of how our projects unfold.

  • Research & Plan

We start by finding out more about you and your business or organization. Who are you? What do you do? What are your project goals? When possible, we will meet with you. For distant clients, we will send out a survey, or schedule a phone call or Skype chat. At this stage, we will explore the main objectives of the project and determine whether we are a good fit for you.

  • Find a Solution

We'll take all the information you have given us, and find a solution to fit your budget. We will provide you with a proposal to start, and once agreed upon, we will get to work. You will be asked for feedback on sketches, marketing ideas, and/or design mockups. We will then expand on our ideas, working with you to finalize a design or campaign. We welcome your input and encourage you to be part of this process.

  • Bring Ideas to Life

Now it is time to bring our designs to life! We will integrate the design with our CMS platform, initiate a marketing campaign, or expand on our branding sketches. At this stage, you will start to see things come together.

  • Complete Project

The final stage is where we focus on executing deliverables, and measuring their success. This stage might involve shipping out a brand new logo and branding guidelines, sending you metrics from your social media marketing campaign, or making a beautifully crafted website live. Our job doesn't end there, though. We offer ongoing support to our clients, online training, and will be there if you have any questions.
